Integration with Adobe Bridge |
|
| In addition to conventional
shell integration that lets you select files from Windows Explorer
and immediately send them to Star*Explorer window without launching S*E
first (just like Send to Smugmug does), now Star*Explorer comes with a
few scripts that allow an easy integration with Adobe Bridge. Once you download a simple package and copy the scripts files where Bridge can see them, you'll be able simply to select some files in Bridge and then use either Tools menu, or context (right-mouse button) popup menu to send them directly to S*E, again, all that without the need to launch S*E first:
Now let's see what the steps are. |

UsageLaunch Bridge, select some smugmug-compliant files (like JPEGs), and use one of the now-available "Upload to Smugmug" commands shown above. If this is your very first time doing it, the script would ask you to point it to the Star*Explorer location. Once you set it up, this info will be stored and perused, so you will hardly see the question again. The only caveat that you have to deal with here is that S*E has no idea what gallery you're going to send these files to. So, just like with shell integration, once the files are in the S*E's upload list, create a new gallery or select an existing one and then use Assign Images button to associate pictures with albums:
Please keep in mind that drag-and-drop functionality from Bridge to S*E remained unchanged and is fully operational as before. |
|
Keep Files Sorted Bridge WaySince v.127 S*E can access Bridge's sorting information, so when you add or drag file from Bridge the order in the S*E's queue will be in accordance with the order in the Bridge. All you have to do to activate this functionality is to set one option in the Conversion section of the Options dialog:

WarningI tested the scripts on my machine (Windows XP, PS CS2). However, this script relies upon other scripts libraries. Some of them were downloaded from Adobe, some - from a friendly PS Scripts site. Should worst come to worst - simply remove the scripts and everything should get back to what it was. This is also work in progress. I will make changes to the script as I get better with it:-) |
|
CreditsI'd like to thank you Michael Hale from PS Scripts for his time and effort that let me complete this project. |
